However, black bands can often make teeth look more discoloured than they really are. The black colour of the bands can make it look like there is food stuck in your teeth, or sometimes can create a replica of decay. This effect will also gradually become worse as the bands fade and age over time, so it’s best to stay away from black bands in general.
